LSI Option Now Available for JLG® Telehandlers

Load Stability Indication (LSI) is a system that aids operators by helping them to remain within the forward load capacity of the telehandler. If the forward load capacity of the telehandler is reached, as indicated by illumination of the red lamp on the LSI display, an audible alarm is activated and the vehicle control system will stop and prevent further activation of many of the telehandler implement functions. This action aids in preventing a further decrease in stability of the telehandler. Only boom retract and boom lift are available to the operator to correct the stability of the machine. When stability is improved, the visual indication will return to green and the audible alarm will turn off.

An LSI Override Switch can be used if the operator chooses to continue to operate the telehandler within the load capacity limit. This feature does not deactivate the red lamp or audible alarm, but will allow prevented hydraulic implement functions to be activated again for up to 30 seconds, or until stability of the telehandler improves.

LSI operates in two modes– active and passive. The LSI system is always active, not just when the vehicle is stationary and placing loads. The telehandler can be switched to passive mode to allow it to be operated with the boom retracted without the function cutout or audible alarm activating when the red lamp illuminates. This passive mode is indicated by a yellow lamp in the cab.

LSI is available as an option for JLG models: 742, 943, 1043, 1055, and 1255.
